• The complete source distribution for OpenDSA activities and JSAVE library.
• Allows users to select set sizes from 8 to 20 nodes, and then perform union operations on them. The result on the disjoint set is shown. Steps are explained as the user makes the connections. Shows both the union/find physical array and the logical (tree) view.
• Users can set the number of digits in the key and the number of records to sort. The AV takes the user step-by-step through the Radix Sort.
• Weiler-Atherton clipping algorithm. User can draw two polygons, and is then taken through the steps of the clipping algorithm.
• A complete tutorial for teaching hashing, largely based on the presentation in "A Practical Introduction to Data Structures and Algorithm Analysis" by Clifford A. Shaffer. A series of HTML pages takes the reader through the topics of hash functions, open vs. closed hashing, collision resolution, deletion. The web pages are interspersed with visualizations that demonstrate a variety of hash functions and collision resolution methods, as well as applets that show aspects of the performance for the various methods.
• JHAVÉ is a java application that renders algorithm visualizations. Students explore algorithms by viewing visual representations of data, controlling movement and by responding to pop-up questions. The JHAVÉ site includes a large collection of free materials for students and faculty to use.
• JFLAP is software for experimenting with formal language topics including nondeterministic finite automata, nondeterministic pushdown automata, multi-tape Turing machines, several types of grammars, parsing, and L-systems. In addition, JFLAP allows one to experiment with construction proofs from one form to another, such as converting an NFA to a DFA to a minimal state DFA to a regular expression or regular grammar. JFLAP has been under development since 1990 by Professor Susan Rodger and her students, first at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and then at Duke University since 1994.
